Golden Jubilee Celebration Mass: 20 Sept 2014
Our thanks to Mgr. Tom McGovern for presiding in the absence of the Bishop; to all who prepared the Church, our musicians and Choirs (Parish and St. Margaret Clitherow School), Choir Leaders, Altar Servers, Sacristans, the young ladies of our Uniformed Groups who represented not only "Rainbows, Brownies & Guides" but also the Good Shepherd School from which most of them are drawn and provided Guard of Honour for H.M. Lord Lieutenant and his Lady, the Mayor and Consort of Gedling and the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of the City, as well the Mayor Emeritus of Gedling, Councillor and Mrs Collis, and of course those hidden members behind the scenes that ensure always we have a wonderful worshipping and social space-the Cleansing Operatives on a Monday morning and Marcus whose various talents are called on from cooking to repairing to setting up.

The support of the wonderful people of the parish community coming together throughout two weeks in celebration is particularly marked. Thank you to all the food providers and supporters of the Social Committee that enabled the parish to offer a sumptuous display of hospitality to our guests and ourselves. There was so much hard work in preparation, donation and of course tidying the Centre for use the following day, that the midnight oil was burnt, but the whole parish unites in appreciation for the expression of such generosity of talent that draws us all together in unity of Faith. Thank you. Submitted by Fr Philip
