Good Shepherd, Woodthorpe

St Anthony's of Calverton
NAME OF SERVICE: Arnold Foodbank Support

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE:

We support the Trussell Trust Foodbank, run from the Baptist Church at 18 Mansfield Road, Daybrook, through both personnel and donations of food. We are the second biggest local supplier of food to the foodbank, after a major supermarket. The foodbank provides urgently needed practical help to individuals and families in need.

WHERE/WHEN?

The foodbank is open from 1.30pm to 3.00pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week, except bank holidays.

Donations of food can be left on any day in the Good Shepherd Church, in crates located in the right of the narthex accessed through the main entrance to the church off Thackeray's Lane.

HOW CAN I BE INVOLVED?

Parishioners are regularly encouraged through requests in the parish newsletter to make donations of in-date non-perishable food for the benefit of users of the foodbank. For further information please contact the foodbank or our parish representatives (see contact details below).

HOW CAN I GET HELP FROM THE SERVICE?

A foodbank voucher, issued by appropriate designated agencies, is required to access the foodbank's resources. In order to provide help for the circumstances of individual or family situations the foodbank works with local agencies. If you call or email the foodbank they can talk through your situation and put you in touch with a local agency that is able to issue you with a foodbank voucher. The local agency can also provide long term support if needed to help address some of the issues behind the reasons for your crisis.
