The Day of Prayer To End Pandemic
As we approached our second national lockdown in England to contain COVID-19 virus, our Bishops appealed for a special day of prayer and fasting on the 21 Nov, Vigil Christ The King, to pray to end this pandemic. Inspired by this request we decided to promote this widely throughout our parish and welcomed anyone who wanted to visit.

Working within Covid restrictions, we managed to get a workable program in place to assist our visitors, making their visit more meaningful as they engaged in private worship.

Our day included recordings of the rosary, regular short spiritual readings, the Divine Mercy Chaplet in song with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 11am-9pm.

All visitors were encouraged to light a candle and place it on the altar rail. There was a steady flow of visitors throughout the day, some popping in for a short visit and others spending many hours.

All of this was made possible by the supervision of our stewards throughout the day who were able to assist as needed and made everyone very welcome. Special attention was given to the entrance of our church, the stairway was lined with potted plants decorated by lanterns, signifying the Light of Christ drawing all to His Church.

May God's peace be with you all.
