NAME OF SERVICE: Sacramental Preparation - First Holy Communion

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE:

This involves Catechist led family preparation sessions for children in Year 3 and above (age 7 years and over), wanting to make their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. The sessions are offered annually for each new group of children and their parents.

WHERE/WHEN?

The sessions (for children and parents) are held in the parish centre on one Wednesday/Saturday each month from January to June each year. There are also meetings for parents on occasional Mondays and First Holy Communion focussed Masses on certain Sundays. The programme culminates in children receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time, followed some time later by their first Holy Communion at a special Mass in church on a Saturday.

HOW CAN I BE INVOLVED?

Register your child using a form available from the back of church. Parents are also expected to ensure their children attend Holy Mass regularly and support them through the preparation process.

HOW CAN I GET HELP FROM THE SERVICE?

This service ensures children are fully prepared to receive the wonderful Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion and helps them develop spiritually as they move forward in their individual lives.
