NAME OF SERVICE: Safeguarding

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE:

Safeguarding within the diocese of Nottingham is of paramount importance and the diocese is dedicated to promoting the safeguarding of all children and adults at risk within its community. Every parish in the diocese is therefore required to have in place appropriate safeguarding procedures.

As part of this, our parish has a designated safeguarding representative who has an important range of responsibilities, including a lead role for promoting good and safe practices in all activities involving children, young people and adults, administering the diocesan safeguarding procedures and for providing advice on child and adult safeguarding matters within the parish. The safeguarding representative acts as the link between the parish and the diocesan safeguarding coordinator.

WHERE/WHEN?

The parish safeguarding representative is involved in providing expert advice and support in the area of safeguarding across all areas of activity covered by the parish, including the church, the parish community centre and all parish ministries.

HOW CAN I BE INVOLVED?

Every parishioner has a responsibility to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of those who worship in our church or who join us for any activity facilitated by church members. We must take particular care of those who may be vulnerable because of age, illness or disability or who may be vulnerable because of current or past life experiences.

HOW CAN I GET HELP FROM THE SERVICE?
