NAME OF SERVICE: | Uniformed Groups-Beavers, Cubs and Scouts |
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE: |
1st Daybrook and Woodthorpe Scout Group is a youth activity for young people (boys and girls) aged 6 - 14. Focussing on developing young people's extra-curricular skills through working towards 'activity badges', Scouting has been in existence since 1907. Our primary focus is on helping the young people learn confidence, independence, social skills and Skills for Life through games based around teamwork and adaptability, outdoor activities such as camping, and developmental challenges. We have three different age groups: Beavers aged 6 - 8; Cubs aged 8 - 10½; and Scouts aged 10½ - 14. There is then an option to continue with Explorer Scouts 14 - 18 at a nearby district level unit. |
